What Happens After You Agree to Sell Your Static Caravan?

Selling your static caravan can feel like a big milestone. You’ve cleaned the cupboards, said your goodbyes and packed away the memories, but what happens next? At UK Caravans Direct we buy caravans across the UK, and we make the post-sale process as simple and stress-free as possible. Here’s what you can expect once you’ve agreed to sell your static caravan.

Finalising the Sale Agreement

The first step is to finalise the sale agreement. This outlines all the important details, such as the agreed price, collection arrangements, and any final responsibilities you need to be aware of.  At UK Caravans Direct, we’ll make sure everything’s crystal clear and agreed in writing to protect both parties. We’ll guide you through this process, making sure there’s no confusion and no hidden surprises.

Notifying the Park Management

If your caravan is located on a holiday park, the site management will need to be notified of your intention to leave. We would recommend doing this once all of the details of your sale to UK Caravans Direct have been finalised, the purchase order form completed, and the deposit paid to you. Parks usually require notice before the caravan is removed, and there may be a number of forms to complete – we’re happy to handle this for you. We can assist you with notifying the park, help manage any paperwork, ensure all necessary permissions are in place and arrange for collection of your static. We’ll take care of it, so that you don’t have to.

Settling Outstanding Fees

Before the caravan can be collected, any outstanding finance (normally with Santander or Black Horse), site fees, pitch costs, or utility bills linked to the caravan will need to be settled. If you need a hand with any of this, our team is always just a phone call away.

Caravan Collection or Delivery

Once all paperwork is complete and any fees are settled, we’ll arrange the collection of your caravan. We work with experienced transport teams who ensure your caravan is moved safely and professionally. We’ll confirm a collection date with you and the caravan park in advance and keep you updated every step of the way. You don’t need to lift a finger – we’ve got it covered.

The Payment Process

At UK Caravans Direct, we make sure payment is quick and simple. After the collection date is agreed, we’ll pay you a £500 deposit to secure the sale. Then, once your caravan is safely on the move, we’ll transfer the remaining balance straight to your bank account. Quick, easy, and no hanging around.

Cancelling Insurance and Utilities

Finally, don’t forget to cancel any insurance policies or utility accounts associated with your caravan once it has been collected. This ensures you won’t be liable for any ongoing costs and can fully move on to your next adventure.
